Courtroom drama with numerous side plots and plenty of surprise developments。 Mike Lupica adds his special sauce to the fast-paced plot set on Long Island’s Gold Coast。 A disappointing inconclusive ending which must be setting up for a sequel。 Despite being featured in the title， Jane’s cancer gets short shrift in the action。

I did not enjoy this book at all and had to really push myself to finish it—I almost quit reading it about 8 times。 I liked the spunkiness and humor of Jane Smith， but there were too many characters to keep track of， and it was confusing and convoluted。

Real fan of Jane Smith not one of her client though as Mr。 Privileged proved that having money does not mean you have decency or integrity， much less any kind of conscience when it comes to committing a crime。This was a strange ride but worth every bump along the way to its conclusion。
