Dad,
Very entertaining Patterson read。 Good overlay of legal setting and strong characters as main feature。
Brenda,
I found it hard to connect with lead character Jane Smith。 Finding a balance between her personal life/experiences and those of the trial participants and their interactions with Jane was not an easy flowing situation。 Jane is a defense attorney with a no loss record。 Her current client is a player who is not likeable at all。 When Jane is diagnosed with late stage cancer instead of taking care of herself she insists she tell no-one and complete the trial。 Her client is getting witnesses killed I found it hard to connect with lead character Jane Smith。 Finding a balance between her personal life/experiences and those of the trial participants and their interactions with Jane was not an easy flowing situation。 Jane is a defense attorney with a no loss record。 Her current client is a player who is not likeable at all。 When Jane is diagnosed with late stage cancer instead of taking care of herself she insists she tell no-one and complete the trial。 Her client is getting witnesses killed off before they can testify? Is Jane next on his hit list? Will she survive this client and live out her medical death sentence? Does Jane want to win her last case and have this creep walking the streets or go out a winner?I plowed through this book in a day。 I wanted to see just where the authors went with these characters。 。。。more
Diane,
2 1/2-3 ⭐️ s。 This seemed to really start out slow for me。 After more than half done, got really good。 I’ll definitely read the next one because this one didn’t really end! No closure, so much left hanging。 Not his (their) best。
Peggy Chadwick,
Fast paced, good writing, great story line。
Brenda Cooper,
CancerA lawyer, Jane and her partner Jimmy, are defending Rob Jacobson against a triple homicide charge。 Jane finds out her sister and the defendant have a relationship。 Her sister has cancer。 Jane also gets a cancer diagnosis。 As always with James Patterson, there are many twists and turns。
Sheila Marks,
Good story! I hope there is a sequel!
Liz,
Fan of Patterson’s latest defense lawyer。 Jane Smith is tough as well as funny。 Look forward to more books like this one。
Cheri,
Good book kept my attention。
Marion,
Courtroom drama with numerous side plots and plenty of surprise developments。 Mike Lupica adds his special sauce to the fast-paced plot set on Long Island’s Gold Coast。 A disappointing inconclusive ending which must be setting up for a sequel。 Despite being featured in the title, Jane’s cancer gets short shrift in the action。
Louise,
Patterson and Lupica sold me on their attorney Jane when I saw them on Today。 I could not find Jane too Admirable when she skipped her cancer treatment to work。 It was awfully heavy that her sister also had cancer。
Marcia,
I did not enjoy this book at all and had to really push myself to finish it—I almost quit reading it about 8 times。 I liked the spunkiness and humor of Jane Smith, but there were too many characters to keep track of, and it was confusing and convoluted。
Dianna Conder,
What a great book (I hope they make it into a movie)! Criminal attorney Jane Smith has just been given the news, she has cancer and has a year to live, right before the biggest trial she has ever done。 This book is loaded with many twists and turns and you will be constantly changing your guesses as to “who dun it”。 I highly recommend this novel!
Bob Engeman,

Jackie,
Real fan of Jane Smith not one of her client though as Mr。 Privileged proved that having money does not mean you have decency or integrity, much less any kind of conscience when it comes to committing a crime。This was a strange ride but worth every bump along the way to its conclusion。
Flossie Dopkin,
Interesting except for the ending …。 I felt it was a cop out! Unless it’s going to be another series。
Bob Burnett,
This is a compelling legal thriller。 A page-turner that you will find hard to put down。 It features a very strong female attorney, Jane Smith, who’s hired to defend wealthy, handsome, scumbag Rob Jacobson charged with a triple murder。The strength of the book is the pace and the characterization of Jane Smith, a vulnerable superhero。The book rates four stars because, to facilitate the pace, there are too many murders and shootings。 The point-of-view alternates between Jane Smith and her investiga This is a compelling legal thriller。 A page-turner that you will find hard to put down。 It features a very strong female attorney, Jane Smith, who’s hired to defend wealthy, handsome, scumbag Rob Jacobson charged with a triple murder。The strength of the book is the pace and the characterization of Jane Smith, a vulnerable superhero。The book rates four stars because, to facilitate the pace, there are too many murders and shootings。 The point-of-view alternates between Jane Smith and her investigator, Jimmy Cunniff; sometimes this is confusing。 Finally, the setting is the wealthy New York suburb of Nassau County, where apparently the biggest social problem is parking during the holidays。Patterson has sold 425 million books。 Read 12 Months to Live to understand his appeal。t 。。。more
Margie Power,
Different kind of Patterson。 I liked the attorney but it was a little far fetched with all those killings。

Many thanks to Little, Brown {partner} for my gifted copy。 Friends, I’m so happy to be sharing 12 MONTHS TO LIVE with you today as part of the #JamesPattersonStreetTeam It’s the first in the new Jane Smith series and I’m already looking forward to the next! Jane is a character that I quickly grew to love。 She’s a smart, takes no crap, and is just the right amount of sarcastic for me。 I’m also a fan of her partner, Jimmy Cunniff, ex NYPD cop and boundary-pushing sidekick investigator。 The story i Many thanks to Little, Brown {partner} for my gifted copy。 Friends, I’m so happy to be sharing 12 MONTHS TO LIVE with you today as part of the #JamesPattersonStreetTeam It’s the first in the new Jane Smith series and I’m already looking forward to the next! Let me start by explaining my star rating on this book。 I am giving it three stars because there is nothing wrong with the book but there is also nothing great with the book。 It is a fun, mindless read which was great as an audiobook to pass the time in the car on a long trip。 Three stars because it is just the middle of a road story。I will give Patterson and Lupica this -- the book is not a traditional, who did it, mystery。 It is somewhat combination of literary fiction telling the lives of individuals combined with a bit of courtroom and criminal mystery。 Overall, that made it a bit unique and a bit more intriguing to listen to。 。。。more

Before I give my review, yes I know a lot of people don't read James Patterson anymore but I still do, as he has introduced me to some authors I might not have picked up otherwise。 That all being said, this one was strange。 I did like the main story and the main characters, but it was what was going on with the main character and how it was dealt with just frustrated me。 Before I give my review, yes I know a lot of people don't read James Patterson anymore but I still do, as he has introduced me to some authors I might not have picked up otherwise。 That all being said, this one was strange。 I did like the main story and the main characters, but it was what was going on with the main character and how it was dealt with just frustrated me。 。。。more

12 Months to Live is a courtroom thriller style book with Jane Smith as the hotshot defense attorney to the rich and unrepentant。 At the start of the book Jane is given a diagnosis of cancer and 12 months to live。 She deals with it by refusing to acknowledge it and just wanting to finish up her case。 This case and the other one she agrees to look into have a lot of similarities。 She knows she is looking in the right direction because someone is trying to shut her and her investigator down。 I enj 12 Months to Live is a courtroom thriller style book with Jane Smith as the hotshot defense attorney to the rich and unrepentant。 At the start of the book Jane is given a diagnosis of cancer and 12 months to live。 She deals with it by refusing to acknowledge it and just wanting to finish up her case。 This case and the other one she agrees to look into have a lot of similarities。 She knows she is looking in the right direction because someone is trying to shut her and her investigator down。 I enjoyed Jane's take no prisoners approach to life and possibly death。 I want to give thanks to to NetGalley and especially to Random House UK, Cornerstone for the advanced reader copy in exchange for a honest review。 。。。more

Bobzman,
I listened to audio version。 When 2 people are talking no need for " I said" " He said" after everysentence。 Not as bad as their other books but still annoying。 Doesn't seem that Patterson is into sequels with his co-authors。 I listened to audio version。 When 2 people are talking no need for " I said" " He said" after everysentence。 Not as bad as their other books but still annoying。 Doesn't seem that Patterson is into sequels with his co-authors。 。。。more
